You mean King George III who was King of England in the 2nd half of the 18th century?

The citizens of the colonies in America resented being taxed by the King, when they had no vote as to who was in Parliament.

So, they declared Independence. The Declaration says, in plain English, we are fed up with being colonies and want to be a country in our own right.

The rest, as they say, is history.
