i realized that right after i wrote that comment when i looked at Rainbow’s wikipedia page. it said “Ex Elf frontman Ronnie James Dio…” Elf, i’m sure, wasn’ t very memorable anyway.
Johnnie. Yes now … Johnnie. Yes now maybe. I liked Dio. He was awesome with Rainbow, Sabbath and the first couple of albums with his own Dio band. But Dio doing Sabbath numbers live that Ozzy made legendary like ‘war pigs, symptom of the Universe, sabbath bloody sabbath and ‘Black Sabbath’ he completely ruined them. Only Ozzy could do them. Ozzy is still God.
I saw Marilion do … I saw Marilion do this when they were a cover band in Bogarts in B’ham and to this day the loudest thing I have heard. . . . and this was on a Saturday afternoon!
I don’t care what … I don’t care what everyone says I am a Rainbow fan and I love all stages of Rainbow, weather it be it w/ Dio/ Bonnet/ or JLT, they were all great, same goes for the drummers and Bassist , keyboard they had as well All Rainbow rocks, I grew up with the whole evolution of Rainbow
absolutely it was … absolutely it was Blackmore’s band, but this was his best lineup by far…Cozy and Dio as well as Bob Daisley complimented Richie so well-plus Dio and Daisley could write. Rainbow lost its edge with Bonnet and its balls with JLTurner
