look at that, minus … look at that, minus 15. clearly your comments are seen as just plain ignorant. Eric Cantona is not as you put it ‘overrated’. he was in a class of his own. he has played in Europe, but the foreigners rule kept him out of important games for Man United, along with Peter Schmeichel. also Manchester United were just getting started in Europe when Eric arrived. they weren’t at the level of other teams. but Eric had the biggest impact on the club. he transformed them into champions.
Spire1997, You are … Spire1997, You are a moron because you think America alone is at fault, whereas there are plenty of British businessmen making a fortune off of marketing…it is not our influence dude, it is technology and modernization of the industry. It happens whether we want it to or not.
I have been going to games since 1994. I wish I was going to more, but work across the pond prevents this. My point is that don’t knock US ways if you have never lived here and seen it. Internet/TV don’t count.
One thing i do … One thing i do admire Man Utd for is bringing through English players. Scholes, Butt, Beckham, the Nevilles are all Man Utd produced.
If they limited foreign players it would also make the French and Portugese leagues more competitive. They wouldn’t be just feeder leagues for the English and Spanish.
Music at the start … Music at the start of the match, music when teams score, cheerleaders, half time entertainment. All of these have come in the last 15 years or so. I know its down to tv, SKY more specifically, but its still down to american influence. I’m not blaming the americans, its got nothing to do with them.
I’m a moron? What the do you know. How many years have you been visiting British football grounds? Tosser.
personally, if i … personally, if i were the president of FIFA, i would say that you could only play for your local team. people have said to me ‘man united have always been good’ of course! but if you took away the french, portugese it would be more interesting.
Go on then, people. thumb me down, critisize me, complain i’m wrong, whatever. i dont understand football.
You are a moron. “Americanised”? Really dude? Have you been to Japan or even the US? TV is at fault, nothing more. Americanised you are a fool…because of television and commericals with game breaks is why we have that amount of money. Football in England doesn’t have “gamebreaks” so the only ad time teams can make money is in those boards. We live in a modern world which is connected by international commerce. My wife is from Manchester, so I support them.
