Michael Jackson – Heartbreak Hotel – Yokohama – 1987 – Japan

May 29, 2010 - 1:55 am No Comments

september 12 1987.
Originally named “Heartbreak Hotel”, “This Place Hotel” was a hit recording by The Jacksons when it was released in 1980.
Written, composed and produced by Michael, the song would precede Jackson’s own hit, “Billie Jean”, in its insecurity-plagued tale of confusion. While his brothers did not sing background vocals, they were credited with playing percussion on the album while brother Tito contributed a guitar solo. The song reached number twenty-two on the Billboard pop singles chart and number two on the R&B singles chart when it was released and became the group’s second biggest single off their Triumph album, behind “Can You Feel It.” The song, in turn, became a popular concert performance for the group’s next two tours right into Michael’s own Bad tour. The song, like the aforementioned “Can You Feel It,” has become one of the oft-sampled songs in hip-hop.
The song’s title was changed because of the 1956 Elvis Presley hit, “Heartbreak Hotel”.The song was performed on the Jacksons’ Triumph Tour (thus appears on the Jacksons’ subsequent live album) and was subsequently used on the Jacksons’ Victory Tour. When Michael Jackson first toured as a solo act, “This Place Hotel” was the only Jacksons song to be used in both legs of the Bad World Tour whereas the other songs by the group (with the exception of a medley of early Jackson 5 hits) were retired during the second leg. A spoken word and synth recording preceded the song on the first leg of the Bad tour, but for the second leg of the tour (and on the subsequent Dangerous World Tour ) that recording was used as an intro to Jackson’s hit “Smooth Criminal” instead.
The song was included on Michael Jackson’s The Ultimate Collection.

Elvis Presley “Suspicious Minds” Mark James

Artist : Elvis Presley
Song : Suspicious Minds

(words & music by Mark James)
We’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can’t you see
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?
We can’t go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds
So, if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Here we go again
Asking where I’ve been
You can’t see these tears are real
I’m crying
We can’t go on together
With suspicious minds
And be can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Oh let our love survive
Or dry the tears from your eyes
Let’s don’t let a good thing die
When honey, you know
I’ve never lied to you
Mmm yeah, yeah

Michael Jackson – This Place Hotel (Heartbreak Hotel) Live Studio Version

April 9, 2010 - 6:33 am 1 Comment

Live in sin
Ten years ago on this day
My heart was yearning
I promised I would never ever be returning
Where my baby broke my heart and left me yearning
As we walked to the room
There were faces staring
Glaring, tearing through me
Someone said welcome to your doom
Then they smiled with eyes
That looked as if they knew me
This is scaring me

We walked up the stairs
Still concealing the gloom
There were two girls
(Sitting in my room)
She walked up to my face
Said this is the place
You said meet you right here at noon

This is Heartbreak Hotel
Welcome to Heartbreak Hotel
So this is Heartbreak Hotel
This place is Heartbreak Hotel

Hope is dead
She thought that I had cheated for another lover
I turn my back to see that Im undercover
Now I can’t convince this girl, there ain’t no other
Someone’s evil to hurt my soul
Every smile’s a trial thought
In beguile to hurt me
This is scaring me
Then the man next door had told
He’s been here in tears for fifteen years
This is scaring me

We came to this place
Where the vicious dwelt
Found that wicked women
(Run this strange hotel)
There was Sefra and Sue
Every girl that I knew
And my baby said love is through

This is Heartbreak Hotel
Welcome to Heartbreak Hotel
So evil
(Heartbreak Hotel)
This place is Heartbreak Hotel
Someones stabbin my heart
(Heartbreak Hotel)
This is Heartbreak Hotel
(Heartbreak Hotel)
Ten years ago today
(Heartbreak Hotel)
This is Heartbreak Hotel
(Heartbreak Hotel)

Someones stabbin my heart
(Heartbreak Hotel)
This is heartbreal hotel
(Heartbreak Hotel)
Ten years ago today
(Heartbreak Hotel)
Hurting my mind
(Heartbreak Hotel)
You break my babys heart
(Heartbreak Hotel)
This is Heartbreak Hotel
(Heartbreak Hotel)
Just welcome to the scene

Heartbreak Hotel

April 6, 2010 - 4:21 am 4 Comments

Step into our wayback machine to Sept. 5 1987. We opened and backed Johnny Harra at a concert in Granbury, Texas. He is a very personable and professional person on and off stage. Johnny was chosen to play a 42 year old Elvis in the docudrama movie “This Is Elvis”. For more information, videos and music his website is http://www.johnnyharrathelegend.com
Johnny has also worked with Conway Twitty, Glen Campbell, Jack Green, The Kentucky Headhunters, Brenda Lee, Jewel Akins and many more.
The musicians that night were from left to right, Truman Hudson, Bob Hudson (lead guitar), Joey Phillips (drums), Greg Ladesic (bass), Oliver Mowet (keyboard). The backup vocals were Joe Fleming and Kelly.
This was recorded on VHS by a relative up in the loft next to the spotlight, and the sound you hear was picked up through the camera mike across the auditorium. The tape was about gone due to age, and the video doesn’t look very good at full screen.
For the people who were there that night, and the ones seeing this for the first time……….enjoy.

When you have finished visiting our site click on one of our friends picture/icon , about halfway down right, such as George Strait, The Eagles, Lisa Layne (All I want for Christmas Is You) and others. This will take you to their myspace site, with songs, videos and performance shedules. These are the official myspace sites of the artist and the real deal.
