G. I. Blues was Elvis’s fifth film. It was produced by Hal B. Wallis and was the first of nine Elvis movies to be directed by Norman Taurog. You got the huggin’est arms
The thrillin’est eyes
You’re just my style
And you’re just the right size
Gonna stop
Uh, shoppin’ around
I’m gonna stop
Shoppin’ around ’cause i found the girlie i’m lookin’ for
Oh, the very first time
You touched my lips
Took my little red book
And tore it to bits
Ain’t gonna be
Searchin’ no more
I’m gonna stop
Shoppin’ around ’cause i found the girlie i’m lookin’ for
Ain’t no other dolly i’m wantin’ to hold
Hey, hey, baby
I really am sold on you
Ooh, ooh, such a pretty little package
I never did see
Gonna wrap you up and take you home with me
I’m thrilled like never before
I’m gonna stop
Shoppin’ around ’cause i found the girlie i’m lookin’ for
Ain’t no other dolly i’m wantin’ to hold
Hey, hey, baby
I really am sold on you
Ooh, ooh, such a pretty little package
I never did see
Gonna wrap you up and take you home with me
I’m thrilled like never before
I’m gonna stop
Shoppin’ around ’cause i found the girlie i’m lookin’ for
I’m gonna stop
Uh shoppin’ around
I’m gonna stop
Uh shoppin’ around
I’m gonna stop
Shoppin’ around

Elvis Presley Graceland pictures taken by jackiej61 Part 1

April 6, 2010 - 4:21 am 11 Comments

I have been going to Graceland at least twice a year since 1991, so I have been there approximately 30 times (I KNOW!!). In any case, I have a fairly comprehensive collection of photos that I thought some of you may be interested in, whether you have never been to Graceland, or if you have been many times. EPE has plans to totally change the set up now, except for Graceland itself, so Graceland may actually not be this way for long. THIS IS PART 1 OF 4.

Part 1 of 4 includes:

Gates/Front of House/Grounds
Foyer/Hall/Staircase
Living Room (can see into Music Room)
Gladys and Vernons Bedroom
Dining Room
Kitchen
TV Room (basement)
Pool Room (basement)
Jungle Room

I have used a recording of Elvis at the August 30, 1974 3:00 a.m. show in Las Vegas with this video. See See Rider, a dialogue, and Big Boss Man are on this part. This is available on a CD called Elvis-Night Fever In Vegas

Elvis Presley Heartbreak Hotel
Written by Mae Axton and Tommy Durden. Elvis recorded it January 10, 1956. It was the second song he recorded for RCA. It was #1 on the Country Best Seller chart for 17 weeks, the Country Juke Box chart for 13 weeks, the Country Disc Jockey chart for 12 weeks and it reached #5 on the rhythm & blues chart. It was Elvis’s first million seller and the second record in history to reach all three Billboard charts (the first was Carl Perkins’s Blue Suede Shoes). It was on the top 100 chart for a total of 27 weeks. Billboard listed it as the number one single of 1956. It was the A-side to I Was The One. This song is available on The King of Rock n Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, Elvis By The Presleys, Elvis Golden Records Vol. 1, Artist of The Century, and Elvis 56, which is where this version is from.

Well, since my baby left me,
Well, I found a new place to dwell.
Well, It’s down at the end of lonely street
at Heartbreak Hotel.
Where I’ll be, I’ll be so lonely baby
Well I’m so lonely
Well I’m so lonely, I could die.

Although it’s always crowded,
you still can find some room.
For broken hearted lovers
to cry there in their gloom.
They’ll be so, they’ll be so lonely baby
Well Their so lonely
Well Their so lonely, they could die.

Well, the Bellhop’s tears keep flowin’,
and the desk clerk’s dressed in black.
Well they been so long on lonely street
They never, they’ll never look back.
Well their so their so lonely baby,
Well, their so lonely
their so lonely, they could die

Well now, if your baby leaves you,
and you got a tale to tell.
Just take a walk down lonely street
to Heartbreak Hotel.

Where you will you will be be so lonely
You’ll be so lonely
You’ll be so lonely youll be so lonely, you could die
