One played upright bass, one played drums and the other electric guitar! You would almost have to be 65 to 70 years of age to remember them or be a musical historian!

Bill Black , DJ Fontana and Scotty Moore

Johnny Cash didnt play for elvis !

    hello there,

what is wrong with being old ??

Bill Back (bass), Scotty Moore (guitar) and DJ Fontana (drums)

and before that there was the beautiful world of big band Jazz, but that high point was in the 30s and 40s – the best music ever.

But in the early Fifties, Rock and Roll started and that music faded away, just as the crooners did.
And the music now is something they put together in a computer, but still they call it music. Why ??

    Mike Dennis.

    D. J. Fontana, from Shreveport, Louisiana where I live now, played
    drums.

Scotty Moore played lead electric guitar.

Note: James Burton, who played lead guitar for Elvis’ band from 1969
to 1977 also is a native of Shreveport and lives here now.

Elvis had other musicians on his some of his studio recordings. One
of the best known lead guitar players in the world who played for Elvis
    was Reggie Young.
