    It’s about the old Elvis infatuation. An Irish-woman pretty much was delusional and traveled from Ireland to the USA to see Elvis’ grave after his death – as did many people in the world. There was a long line of fans at his grave site, with security and the whole sha-bang.

    This song… is very, very sad. I always get a little choked up over it…

    And then I realize “… Wait, she fell in love with a corpse. Thats… eh.” Perhaps I don’t have the respect of the king some of the elders here do, but it reminds me too much of the woman down south parading about and declaring herself as Sonic the Hedgehog’s wife. The only thing I feel after that is, well, pity and revulsion.

    it seems this version is being put down allot and it is not as good as the original but that is always the case.I am not a Irish person and I am not a Irish music know it all , because I like allot of US 70s rebel bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd ,The Outlaws,Molly Hatchet, but The High Kings lp is realy is a good one even if you do call them plastic paddys
