She comes back to tell me she’s gone,
As if I didn’t know that
As if I didn’t know my own bed,
    As if I’d never noticed,
The way she brushed her hair from her forehead,

    Pure genius.

Graceland is one of my favourite albums too, definitely. I was just trying to explain why he ’sounds like elvis’ as you said, and my guess was to conserve his energy.

thanks QuestionsByTaylor, having said all that, i still think this song and the Graceland album is one of the alltime greatest classics. It is like it has bottled lightning or something, brilliant and subtle.

yeah, I agree… but I think its just the nature of doing too many shows in a row, you have to can feel a need to be nonchalant like that to keep yourself from burning out maybe.

I’m not having a problem with his language delivery. The song has ‘morphed’ into an icon of itself, in a sense, perhaps to the point where this rendition, with its subtle musical variations, is simply lovely. The BBC has gotten the video delivery spot-on, too.

    By strange …
By strange pronunciation, i mean that he seems to be putting on some kind of overempahsised drawing out of words like he is imitating elvis or something, it is offputting.

  18. Nedmurgon1968 Says:

The playing is brilliant, very subtle and beautiful, but what in the world is going on with that strange pronunciation Paul is doing, he seems to be mocking his own song as he goes on?????
