To find EC’s …
To find EC’s version you may need to go to an old vintage record store. I have a 45 of it from many years ago and it is really good. This is the definitive version though. Elvis wrote it but Rockpile perfected it.

I tried to find …
I tried to find Elvis’ version of this song but couldn’t. I’ve never heard it. I wasn’t fussed on Linda’s version though others seem to like it. I read that Rockpile split because Dave Edmunds and the bass guitarist Nick Lowe had differences.

Elvis C. wrote it, …
Elvis C. wrote it, but this version is really good. Linda Ronstadt did a credible job of this on her Mad Love album. Nick and Rockpile are fantastic. Why didn’t they stay together?

This has been one …
This has been one of my most favourite songs for years. I can listen to it over and over and never get sick of it. I never knew who actually sang it until I just recently did the You Tube search for it. Dave was a bit of a cutey!

Great Elvis …
Great Elvis Costello tune by one of the greatest real rock n roll bands ever, too bad they broke up so quickly.

That is Billy. They …
That is Billy. They never had different line ups. It was Edmunds, Lowe, Bremner, and Williams. As far as I know neither Nick or Dave used the name after their rift. Though when they toured they’d change the name from “Dave Edmunds and Rockpile” or “Nick Lowe and Rockpile” for some reason. Maybe it was label company issues because as solo artists they were on different labels.
Damn fine rock n’ roll band.
