aloha ! I want to know about Hawaii … ?

I am going to hawaii in a few days (specifically wakiki) and I wanted to know some basic information/facts about Hawaii.
So, anything you can contribute would me greatlyappreciated …
Thanks ! :-)

Aloha,
First of all, the Honolulu forum is a perfect example to verify the saying "You can’t believe everything you read on the internet." Do not listen to those that tell our visitors to go to the Leeward Side, Makaha or Nanakuli. These places are not visitor friendly. The posters that are telling you this think that they are being funny, and do not have any aloha. Hula’s is primarily a gay club, but can be good fun for those with an open mind.
If you are coming before the weekend, make sure and pack an umbrella, there is a pretty strong storm front expected to pass over Oahu in the next few days. The good news about the storm is surfs up! We are expecting 35 foot (face) waves coming on to the northwestern shores. The storm is expected to pass over the islands very rapidly, so don’t worry, you will get some sun.
Duke’s is always a good place to go in Waikiki and watch the sunset. They have good food and great local entertainment. (It is located right in the middle of Waikiki on Kalakaua). You can walk out to the beach in the front and the beach boys will take you for a ride in an outrigger canoe. Next door to Duke’s is the Hula Grill, which serves a great breakfast in an oceanfront setting. The International Market Place is a must for souveniers. Make sure you walk through first. You will find many vendors selling the same items at different prices. If you go later in the evening (when they are just about to fold up), you will get better prices, and don’t be afraid to bargain with them.
The parking in Waikiki is terrible, so it is best to walk. Kalakaua is good fun at night, but stay on the main street.
Have fun and enjoy your holiday!

You will love the beach. Always dress in summer clothes. Be sure to visit the International Market on Kalakowa Blvd., very close to the beach. Visit Pearl Harbor for sure. And, eat the pineapple. WOW.
    Have fun.

Get out of Waikiki. You will have (and want to) if want to go places like Pearl Harbor or The Arizona Memorial.
Yes ABC store are a great place for souvenirs but try the Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium.
If you hike up Diamond Head there is A LOT of stairs. So if you have bad knees it may not be the best.
There is a lot of great food in Hawaii. Ono’s on Kapahulu Avenue is a great place for Hawaiian Food. But they only take cash. While you are on Kapahulu Avenue go to Lenord’s for Malasadas. Malasada a fried donut. They won’t be in the case they make the fresh.
The Bus will take you anywhere you want to go. It will just take longer.
