How do you spell Graceland in Gaelic?

April 29, 2010 - 9:09 am 3 Comments

A friend wants to know if the pronunciation is the same in English or different.

You do not specify whether you mean Iish, Scottish or Manx Gaelic, but in any case, the answer in all three cases would be "Graceland"; it’s a given/made up place-name and would therefore remain untranslated in any language.

What happens when a king is injured and becomes mentally disabled?

April 29, 2010 - 9:09 am 6 Comments

What if a king is injured somehow but doesn’t die and instead becomes mentally disabled or loses his memory or something of that nature? Does the king still rule? Does someone act on his behalf? Does the next in line become king?

The parliament can appoint someone to act as "regent" for the king. This actually happened during the reign of King George III of Great Britain. He was subject to fits of madness (probably brought about by the disease, Porphyria), and his son, The Prince of Wales (future King George IV) was made regent, and ruled (with certain parliamentary imposed limitations) for the last years of his father’s life.

Which of the 3 NCL ships we should cruise in Hawaii during December?

April 27, 2010 - 6:17 am 6 Comments

My wife and I are planning a 7 night Hawaii Cruise for my 30th birthday in December. I am looking for some advice on which of the 3 ships we should take. We did cruise on the NCL wind in the Western Carib Jan of 04 and had a great time, so we know we do like NCL.

We are thinking of either:
Pride of America December 9th
Pride of Aloha – December 10th
Pride of Hawaii – December 11th.

Can anyone give me a good reason to choose one of these ships over the other two. We are experienced cruisers, (5 cruises in the last 3 years), and will be booking a balcony room on which ever ship it is.

There are a couple of things to look at? Do you want to sail out of Maui or Oahu.
Not all of them do 7 day.
I personally like the newest of th 3 ship. PRIDE OF HAWAII.

I have sailed on all 3. Pride of Aloha is a bit smaller & older, but still a great ship.

Will Pujols be the Future HR King?

April 27, 2010 - 6:16 am 13 Comments

I think so, opinions?

In his first 9 year he has 366. lets say he if he plays another 10 (including this year) he needs another 397 (not including his 5 this year) to get 763 (passing bonds), at an average of 39.7 hr per year. In his first 9 his average was 40.67 Hr per year.

So he needs continue at the pace he was going at for his first 9 years for next 10 years until he is 40. It will be hard because to do that late in his career when he his past his prime. Plus pujols has been lucky not missing alot of time to injury.

If i was betting man i would say NO. But i think it would be good baseball if he does break it. It would better he has the record than Barry Bonds who is surrounded by alot of controversy.
