Hello!!!

Do you know another one?
Ps: I´m sorry about my english…

Northwest Airlines does, has a flight that goes from Minneapolis to Seattle to Honolulu usually at least once a day. She can then get a flight from there to Kona. You can also try Hawaiian Airlines.

what are your thoughts on the pyramid texts?

March 30, 2010 - 4:10 am 1 Comment

anything and everything i know all the factual information but why did they have these pyramid texts in their pyramids ? I was thinking it helped the kings get to the afterlife? but why so many and why is a full set of the spells not in one pyramid and why did they first appear in unas pyramid when they mapped out prehistoric times? I have so many questions after my lecture today but i havnt been able to source the answers. If you have any questions your self please post

The Pyramid Texts are a collection of ancient Egyptian religious texts from the time of the Old Kingdom. Written in Old Egyptian, the pyramid texts were carved on the walls and sarcophagi of the pyramids at Saqqara during the 5th and 6th Dynasties of the Old Kingdom. Unlike the Coffin Texts and Book of the Dead into which parts of the pyramid texts later evolved, the pyramid texts were reserved only for the pharaoh and were not illustrated. The pyramid texts mark the first written mention of the god Osiris, who would become the most important deity associated with afterlife. The spells, or "utterances", of the pyramid texts are primarily concerned with protecting the pharaoh’s remains, reanimating his body after death, and helping him ascend to the heavens, which are the emphasis of the afterlife during the Old Kingdom. The spells delineate all of the ways the pharaoh could travel, including the use of ramps, stairs, ladders, and most importantly flying. The spells could also be used to call the gods to help, even threatening them if they did not comply.
Versions
The texts were first discovered in 1881 by Gaston Maspero, and translations were made by Kurth Sethe (in German), Louis Speelers (in French), Raymond O. Faulkner, and Samuel Alfred Browne Mercer.
The oldest version consists of 228 spells and comes from the Pyramid of Unas, the last king of the 5th Dynasty. Other texts were discovered in the pyramids of the 6th Dynasty kings Pepi I, Pepi II and three of his queens, and Teti. Kurt Sethe’s first edition of the pyramid texts contained 714 distinct spells; after this publication additional spells were discovered bringing the total to 759. No single collection uses all recorded spells.

Best tasting brand of Soy Sauce available?

March 28, 2010 - 7:32 am 8 Comments

Aloha Soy sauce from Hawaii is my personal favorite. Whats your all?

Best recipe or story, etc with soy sauce in it gets Best Answer award

I’ve tried Aloha, Kikkoman, Pearl River Superior Brand and Lee Kum Kee Premium and Kimlan.

I personally like Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy sauce for using at the table. Kikkoman would be my second choice. LKK has a little more flavor and is less salty tasting than Kikkoman.

Aloha is good, but I like using it for marinading meats.

Kimlan usually comes in packets when I order Chinese food. It’s okay, but I wouldn’t rate it at the top. It’s just convienent to have.

Superior is just salty water.

Whenever we go to Chinese buffets I always ask for Chinese Ketchup. The waiters kind of look at me like I’m daft, but my coworkers tell them I mean soy sauce. A few of the servers have caught on to my request. I guess I eat there too often. :-)

Anybody else really like Heartbreak Hotel (This Place Hotel)?

That is one of my favorite MJ songs, maybe top 10. I am listening to it right now on a radio station here in Tampa. It is so funky!!!!!

I thought U2 was much Better, then Jon Mayer’s Hearbreak Warfare ruined it for me with at the EDGE-like Git-riffs.

Return to Sender- Elvis Presley

March 27, 2010 - 10:22 pm 25 Comments

1962 Elvis Presley :)

Return to sender, return to sender
I gave a letter to the post man, he put it his sack.
Bright and early next morning, he brought my letter back.
She wrote upon it:

Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.
We had a quarrel, a lovers’ spat,
I’d write “I’m sorry” but my letter keeps coming back.

So when I dropped it in the mailbox, I sent it “Special D”
Bright and early next morning, it came right back to me.
She wrote upon it:

Return to sender, address unknown.
No such person, no such zone.

This time I’m gonna take it myself
And put it right in her hand
And if it comes back the very next day
Then I’ll understand.
The writing on it:

Return to sender, address unknown.
No such person, no such zone.
Return to sender, return to sender.

Elvis Presley # THE MOVIE G.I. Blues # part 3 of 10

March 27, 2010 - 10:22 pm No Comments

G.I. Blues is a 1960 Elvis Presley musical motion picture played as a romantic comedy. It was filmed while Presley was fulfilling his military service obligation with the United States Army in West Germany during the height of the Cold War. It was filmed at Paramount’s Hollywood studios and on location in Germany.
U.S. Army Specialist 5 (SP5) Tulsa McLean (Elvis Presley) is a tank crewman with a singing career. Serving with the 3rd Armored “Spearhead” Division in West Germany, McLean dreams of running his own nightclub when he leaves the army, but such dreams don’t come cheap. Tulsa places a bet on his friend Dynamite (Edward Stroll), that he can spend the night with a club dancer named Lili (Juliet Prowse), who is rumored to be hard to get. She turned down one other G.I. operator, Turk (Jeremy Slate). Dynamite and Turk have vied for women before when the two were stationed in Hawaii. When Dynamite gets transferred to Alaska, Tulsa is brought in to take his place. He is not looking forward to it, but in order to keep his money, he must go through with it. McLean uses his Southern charm and calls Lili, “Ma’am.” She at first sees Tulsa as another Occupation Duty GI. Then after a day on the Rhine, Lili begins to fall for McLean. Tulsa’s friend Cookie falls in love, with Lili’s roommate, Tina (Letícia Román) from Italy. In the end, Rick and Marla’s baby son Tiger helps Tulsa win the bet for the outfit—and Lili’s heart.
Elvis Presley’s return to the screen after a two-year absence due to his military service saw lineups at movie theatres across North America and in Mexico City a riot broke out in a theater showing G.I. Blues that prompted the Mexican government to ban Presley’s movies.
