Suspicious Minds

September 28, 2009 - 8:04 am 25 Comments

We’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby

Why can’t you see
What you’re doin’ to me?
When you don’t believe a word I say

We can go on together
With suspicious minds
(Suspicious minds)
And we can build our dreams
On suspicious minds

So if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still suspicion in your eyes?

Here we go again
Askin’ where I’ve been
You can’t see the tears for real I’m cryin’
(Tears I’m cryin’)

We can go on together
With suspicious minds
(Suspicious minds)
And we can build our dreams
On suspicious minds

If only our love survived
I’d dry the tears from your eyes
Just don’t let a good thing die
Well honey, you know I would never lie to you

We’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby

Why can’t you see
What you’re doin’ to me?
When you don’t believe a word I say

Well don’t you know I’m
Caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
(repeat x5)

(LYRICS)-Retrieved from the Fray’s official web site

I see you there, don’t know where you come from
Unaware of a stare from someone
Don’t appear to care that I saw you and I want you
What’s your name, cause I have to know it
You let me in and begin to show it
We’re terrified cause we’re heading straight for it, might get it
You been the song playing on the background
All along but you’re turning up now
And everyone is rising to meet you, to greet you
Turn around and you’re walking toward me
I’m breaking down and you’re breathing slowly
You say the word and I will be your man, your man
Say when and my own two hands
Will comfort you tonight, tonight
Say when and my own two arms
Will carry you tonight, tonight
Were coming close and then even closer
We bring it in but we get no further
Were separate, two ghosts in one mirror, no nearer
Later on if it turns to chaos
Hurricane coming all around us
See the crack, pull it back from the window, you stay low
Say when and my own two hands
Will comfort you tonight, tonight
Say when and my own two arms
Will carry you tonight, tonight
I come across you lost and broken
You’re coming to but you’re slow in waking
You start to shake, you still haven’t spoken, what happened
They’re coming back and you just don’t know when
You want to cry but there’s nothing coming
They’re gonna push until you give in or say when
Now we’re here, and it turns to chaos
Hurricane, coming all around us
Double crack throws you back from the window, you stay low
It all began with a man & country
Every plan turns another century
Around again, another nation fallen
Maybe God can be on both sides
Of the gun, never understood why
Some of us never get it so good, so good
Some of this was here before us
All of this will go after us
It never stops until we give in, give in
Or say when and my own two hands
Will comfort you tonight, tonight
Say when and my own two arms
Will carry you tonight, tonight

LYRICS:
They give us a room
with a view of the beautiful Rhine
They give us a room
with a view of the beautiful Rhine
Gimme a muddy old creek
in Texas any old time

I’ve got those hup, two, three, four
occupation G.I. Blues
From my G.I. hair to the heels of my G.I. shoes
And if I don’t go stateside soon
I’m gonna blow my fuse

We get hasenpfeffer
and black pumpernickel for chow
We get hasenpfeffer
and black pumpernickel for chow
I’d blow my next month’s pay
for a slice of Texas cow

We’d like to be heroes,
but all we do here is march
We’d like to be heroes,
but all we do here is march
And they don’t give the Purple Heart
for a fallen arch

I’ve got those hup, two, three, four
occupation G.I. Blues
From my G.I. hair to the heels of my G.I. shoes
And if I don’t go stateside soon
I’m gonna blow my fuse

The frauleins are pretty as flowers
But we can’t make a pass
The frauleins are pretty as flowers

But we can’t make a pass
Cause they’re all wearin’ signs saying:
“Keepen sie off the grass”

I’ve got those hup, two, three, four
occupation G.I. Blues
From my G.I. hair to the heels of my G.I. shoes
And if I don’t go stateside soon
I’m gonna blow my fuse

Sesame Street – The Alligator King

September 28, 2009 - 8:04 am 25 Comments

Classic Sesame Street tune from 1971, written/animated by Pixar’s Bud Luckey (also on the banjo, what a talent!), lyrics by Don Hadley, sung by Turk Murphy (of the Turk Murphy Jazz Band) who also sang “Penny Candy Man”. Much thanks to bob94109 for his help.

From my site, The Sesame Street Lyrics Archive, enjoy!

http://www.tinyd.net/sesame1.html

The broadcast of this video is authorized by Sesame Workshop. Thank you so much!

Lyrics:

One two three four five six seven!
Said the Alligator King to his seven sons,
“I’m feelin’ mighty down.
Whichever of you can cheer me up
Will get to wear my crown.”

His first son brought seven oyster pearls
From the bottom of the China Sea.

The second gave him seven statues of girls
With clocks where their stomachs should be.

The third son gave him seven rubies
From the sheikdom Down There Beneath.
The King thought the rubies were cherries,
And he broke off seven of his teeth.

The fourth son tried to cheer him up
With seven lemon drops.
The King said, “I’m sorry son,
Since that ruby episode, I just haven’t got the chops.”

The fifth son brought the King perfume
In seven fancy silver jars;
The King took a whiff, and he broke out in spots
‘Cause it smelled like cheap cigars.

The sixth son gave him seven diamond rings
To wear upon his toes.
The King snagged his foot on the royal red rug
And crumpled up his nose.

The seventh son of the Alligator King
Was a thoughtful little whelp.
He said, “Daddy, appears to me
That you could use a little help.”

Said the Alligator King to his seventh son,
“My son, you win the crown.
You didn’t bring me diamonds or rubies, but
You helped me up when I was down.
Take the crown; it’s yours, my son.
I hope you don’t mind the dents.
I got it on sale at a discount store -
Cost me all of seven cents!”
Seven!

Who has Elvis’ belt and cape from "Aloha from Hawaii"? What rank was he in Karate, did he have any #1s in 70’s

September 26, 2009 - 3:18 pm 2 Comments

I know, that "Moody blue", became # before he died, i think, after he died so did, "Way down". I know that they were high on the country charts. His #1 in 69′ was in pop music… I read somewere he had 33#1 hits put together, from all the charts?

Off hand, here is what I know. If I can find more information before this question closes, I will edit.

I know that Elvis was an 8th degree black belt. However, even though he earned and completely deserves the rank of 8th degree black belt, I think some of the black belt ranks are honorary. As for the cape, it has been returned to Graceland. It is now displayed in the Raquetball Court with the American Eagle Jumpsuit. The guy that caught it, willed it back to Graceland after he died. As far as I know, the belt is still MIA.

Elvis #1’s from the 70’s are:

Suspicious Minds – my mistake, this song was #1 in 1969
The Wonder Of You
Burning Love
Way Down

Here is some information I found about Elvis’ black belts. According to this website: http://members.tripod.com/beyondthereef__1/tigerman.html

Elvis was a quick learner. According to Elvis, he was awarded the 2nd degree in 1963, skipped the third degree, was awarded 4th sometime in the 60s, 5th in 1971, 6th in early 1973, and eighth in August 1974 (Ed Parker insisted it was an honorary degree). Elvis told Ed Parker (and anybody else who would listen to his boosting of martial arts) that, had he not been involved in entertainment as he was, he would have loved to have been involved full-time in the martial arts, training and teaching.

Which one of the Vegas hotels has Elvis Presley been known to haunt?

September 26, 2009 - 3:18 pm 7 Comments

I’ve heard that people like Elvis Presley & Marilyn Monroe have been known to haunt some Las Vegas hotels. But I can’t remember the names of those hotels. If anyone out there knows the hotels’ names, could they please answer?

If any it would be the Hilton for Elvis but Marilyn Monroe .. I wouldn’t have a clue.
